The 0-2's Room

The room is a large, bright and spacious environment designed to support the learning and development of both babies and young toddlers. It provides a calm and nurturing base where children can explore a wide range of age-appropriate activities at their own pace.

A variety of clearly defined activity areas are available, including a Home Corner that reflects current themes, such as a doctor’s surgery, a shop, or imaginative play spaces suited to younger children. A music system is also available to support sensory experiences, music, singing, and movement activities.

The room offers ample space for large-scale floor play, including construction and early role-play, as well as small-world and sensory play to encourage curiosity, early problem-solving and communication.

Activities are carefully adapted to meet the differing needs of babies and toddlers, supporting both independent exploration and adult-led experiences.

The flexible layout allows for group activities, including singing, movement and early physical play.

During colder or wet weather, age-appropriate climbing and soft play equipment may be used indoors, giving children the opportunity to develop their physical skills safely while releasing energy in a controlled and supportive environment.

Pre-school Room

The Pre-School Room is a bright, stimulating and well-organised environment designed to support children as they prepare for their transition to school. The room encourages independence, confidence and curiosity, while providing a strong foundation for learning through play.

A range of purposeful activity areas are available, including role-play spaces that reflect current themes and children’s interests, such as a home corner, shop, café or small-world scenarios. These areas support language development, imagination and social skills. Resources are accessible to promote choice-making and independent learning.

The room offers dedicated space for table-top activities, mark making, construction and early maths, as well as opportunities for collaborative play. Children are encouraged to explore, ask questions and develop problem-solving skills through both child-led and adult-supported activities, carefully planned in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage.

There is also space for group times, including stories, discussions, singing and phonics-style activities, helping children develop listening skills, turn-taking and confidence in a group setting.

Physical development is supported through movement activities and, when outdoor play is limited by weather, indoor equipment and games are used to ensure children remain active and engaged.

Outdoor Play

The children will have their own vegetable garden containers and potting area, the produce of which will be used in the kitchen for their meals. The children will be involved with planting seeds, watering, weeding and harvesting from their garden.

We have a raised section in the garden which hosts a large sand pit and also doubles up as a stage for the children to role play on. We have a sectioned of area for quiet and reflective moments. There is a den and a variety of slides and apparatus to suit the seasonal needs.

In fine weather the children will be outside as much as possible, even for a picnic tea! We have 2 little play houses for children to role play inside. We have a digging area and lots of plants and trees for the children to help us look after.

The Ride-on-toy area has a selection of trikes and vehicles. Other areas enable year round outdoor activities such as a chalk board, sand and water play.

The climbing frame and slide have an all weather surface.

All children will have the opportunity for outdoor free play and a structured outdoor activity during each session. We aim to encourage your child to accomplish a host of physical skills using their body and small apparatus.
